Weddings at Ladies’ Pavilion

Ladies’ Pavilion is one of the most popular and beautiful spots in Central Park for wedding ceremonies. It is situated on the Hernshead peninsula, on the west side of The Lake, at 75th Street.

Part of the charm of this Victorian pavilion is that it is a vestige of the trolley days in Manhattan. It was (and still is!) a fancy shelter from the elements, originally located on 59th Street, and moved into the Park in the early 1900’s.

This wrought-iron shelter is perfect for smaller weddings. You can fit about 10 people comfortably during the ceremony inside the Pavilion, and more people can be standing outside. The permit recommends 20-25 guests, and we have done weddings from elopements up to 50 guests. One thing to note, it is a popular spot and the Pavilion is right on the path into the area, so it can be crowded. If you are planning to walk up the aisle, the aisle would be that same path.
