Weddings at Cherry Hill
Cherry Hill is a large hill which The Lake was built around, named for the numerous Cherry Trees clustered along the western face of the hill. Bow Bridge touches Cherry Hill, Bethesda Terrace is adjacent on the eastern side, and Wagner Cove is on the southern edge of the hill.
Cherry Hill Fountain is near the top of the hill, it is a relatively small fountain in the middle of a wide paved circle. At first glance the fountain may seem out of place, however it was built as a fancy drinking trough for horses as they went through this area designed as a turnaround for carriages.
Ceremonies may be held anywhere on the hill. The Fountain, near the Cherry Trees in spring, or under a large tree on the top of the hill are the most popular spots. This area is great for large weddings, as it will accommodate up to 100 people. Once you are at Cherry Hill, you are surrounded by some of the most iconic spots for photos in Central Park. Many couples choose to spend time taking portraits at some of these spots before or after their ceremony.
